Donating for Social Issues

Organizations that align with your values

The results of climate change go far beyond the extinction of wildlife and the damage we see to rain forests, coral reefs, and wetlands. Some of the most pressing reasons for addressing environmental issues stem from the damage that they cause marginalized groups and impoverished societies.

Many experts believe that in order to tackle climate change as a whole, many societal changes - like better family planning and worldwide improvement in women’s education - must be made in order to reverse harmful trends.

These are a handful of organizations that are leading the way in making these changes:

Women Empowerment

The Small Enterprise Foundation

The Small Enterprise Foundation is a non-profit devoted to empowering women in South Africa to start and run their own small businesses. In past years it has made GiveWell’s list of top nonprofits, being recognized as an organization that has the highest potential to make positive change.

Project Drawdown lists woman owned businesses in third world countries as the #62 solution necessary to address climate change.
